BUILDING CONVERSATIONS
THAT LAST
We all enjoy the magical time together in the woodlands, and with this last year in Mendocino, the Greenermind Community wanted to connect on an ongoing basis around the conversations and ideas that come alive every time we get together. See below for information on some of our recurring groups and for the community calendar where you can check out all of the upcoming connections.
MONTHLY UNCONFERENCE
Join your fellow sustainability folks for monthly virtual conversations about the topics that matter to you.
From energy to politics to aging well and co-housing this is a space to connect with others who want to build a world where we all can thrive.
Conversation topics will be created by those who attend the call and facilitated through breakout groups.
Sunday December 15th, 11 am Pacific
Meeting from 11 am - 1 pm pacific
Meet the vt’s current featured artist and hang out with some like-minded music lovers for a fun online brunch.
MONTHLY GMS ENERGY/CLIMATE
Join fellow leaders in energy and climate change for monthly networking and idea sharing conversations.
In this rapidly changing field staying connected with other professionals working across policy, finance, technology, and more can help us build more resilience to climate change.
MONTHLY ANTI-RACISM/ HEALING JUSTICE GROUP
Meets the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 12-2pm pacific.
This group has been ongoing since 2021, and we rotate hosting. Our goal is to change ourselves and our communities to actively counter racism and white supremacy while creating a culture of respect, humility, imagination, and collaboration.
Topics are brought to the group by each host and have included: somatic abolition, pleasure activism, post-activism, disability justice, white supremacy culture characteristics, de-colonial futures, current events, and various readings.
We have a process for welcoming new people that includes: 1) attending one or two meetings; 2) making a one-year commitment to join the group.
MONTHLY SCIENCE-FICTION BOOK CLUB
Our Sci-Fi bookclub has been meeting for 13 years. We read a variety of books that explore concepts of building a sustainable future. We meet once a month for 90 minutes, and you can join the conversation - even if you haven’t finished the book.
January date TBD: Usurpation by Sue Burke
We coordinate through a facebook group and dates are selected through a monthly poll.
Monthly GMS Mens Group
A monthly call for male-identified GMS'ers to connect with self and others in a heart-centered container.
In addition to the relational benefits of being seen by and seeing men, the space will be an opportunity to practice communication skills such as empathic listening and authentic expression.
The group can also support taking action through goal-setting and accountability.
Group is currently closed but will be open to new members in January 2025.
